Memory Reduction via Delayed Simulation

چکیده
We address a central (and classical) issue in the theory of infinite games: the reduction of the memory size that is needed to implement winning strategies in regular infinite games (i.e., controllers that ensure correct behavior against actions of the environment, when the specification is a regular ωlanguage). We propose an approach which attacks this problem before the construction of a strategy, by first reducing the game graph that is obtained from the specification. For the cases of specifications represented by “request-response”-requirements and general “fairness” conditions, we show that an exponential gain in the size of memory is possible.

Prospective and Retrospective Memory Complaints in HIV-Infected Individuals
Background and purpose: Deficits of retrospective memory (RetM) and prospective memory (ProM), which are two primary components of episodic memory, have been reported in prior studies in HIV-infected individuals. The present study aimed to further elucidate the characteristics of prospective and retrospective memory complaints in HIV-infected individuals. Materials and Methods: We recruited 50...
متن کاملFair Simulation Relations, Parity Games, and State Space Reduction for Büchi Automata
We give efficient algorithms, improving optimal known bounds, for computing a variety of simulation relations on the state space of a Büchi automaton. Our algorithms are derived via a unified and simple parity-game framework. This framework incorporates previously studied notions like fair and direct simulation, but also a new natural notion of simulation called delayed simulation, which we int...
متن کاملReduction in Cache Memory Power Consumption based on Replacement Quantity
Today power consumption is considered to be one of the important issues. Therefore, its reduction plays a considerable role in developing systems. Previous studies have shown that approximately 50% of total power consumption is used in cache memories. There is a direct relationship between power consumption and replacement quantity made in cache. The less the number of replacements is, the less...
